HISTORY
National comrade day was an idea started by myself by opening my big mouth drunkenly saying that i could get everyone in on a plan to create a new national holiday legally sanctioned by the government. This started well by getting people to join a group on myspace and then lead to the idea to organise a gig in Dundee, after weeks of getting a lot of hype about this gig it would seem this was going to be a massive selling out gig, however we still did not have a venue for this gig. Then panic set in and I got a message from ian clarke of papa’s promotions wanting in on this project because his sister told him about it. As of then we had our heart set on having this event at the doghouse venue BUT it was already booked by another band so after more panic one day ian spoke with the owner and the owner mentioned he wanted comrade day to happen there (was there really THAT much hype about it?) now that we have the venue set, bands confirmed and an after party planned for after the gig with thanks to colin and doug of club cage for hosting that for us, we are all set to now fully promote this gig as if much really needs done.
The reason for title of national comrade day is that I have a thing for soviet things, in no way is this event about communism. It is about bringing the people together and having a VERY good time. This is an event that has everyone talking and wanting to go
This gig from the start has been declared by myself as non profit making. Money from tickets will be used to cover costs and also to buy drinks and surprises to have as a random prize giving while bands swap equipment over. Also there will be cake. that’s right cake, as that day will be an ex’s birthday and since she was kicking a fuss about taking away her thunder I thought we should do something nice. So yes. There will be cake.
